Wishlist Wednesday on Thursday

Hello everyone! I must apologize because it has been forever and a day since I posted on here. I have been extremely busy studying for the dental school admissions test. I took it on Tuesday and did well. So now that all of that is behind me…Lets get back to BEAUTY!

Today I have a wishlist for you guys because…well…I want to go shopping so bad…but mama is BROKE! So lets get started!

First thing on my wish list is this Sephora Nose Strip. I love the Sephora masks and when I saw this on the “just arrived” page on the website I was like YAAASSSS. My nose is blackhead city. So I need to try this. And did I mention its only $3???

We all know my obsession with Josie Maran. So when I see new products from her…I want them all.
Here we have a pack with five 0.5 oz whipped mud mask. Yes please. Gimmie.IMG_2483

I actually do not have an eye cream that I use right now. I really want to get one. For whatever reason, I am drawn to this one. This is OleHenriksen’s  Ultimate Life Eye Gel. It is actually for night time. I don’t like to use too many creams during the day under my make up. So I think this would be a good addition to my night time skin care routine. I’m dying to try it. ($42)

So if you watch any of the beauty you tubers, you have seen this product, and now you want it, or already have it. This would definitely be a luxury splurge for me. But I have swatched this product in store and it feels like BUTTAHHH. I need. Marc Jacobs Air Brush Soft Glow Duo ($42). This one is the shade Kink&Kisses. There are five different shades.

So I was at Sephora the other day. One of the associates had skin like a porcelain doll. No joke. My friend and I were both like..”Can we look at your skin up close?” She probably thought we were freaks. But I was seriously blown away by how her skin looked. Her pores were nonexistent. So, of course, I had to ask what primer she uses. And she told me she uses this little baby. Dr. Brandt Pores No More–Pore Refiner Primer. I’ve heard great things about it so it is definitely on my list! You can get a full ounce for $45 or a half ounce for $17. Which I don’t understand…buy two of those and you have the full size product basically but you only spend $34??? I say get two baby ones!!

Okay, I only want this product because of how it smells. I want to eat it. I have nothing more to say. Bite Beauty–Whipped Cherry Lip Scrub ($18)

Last but not least, I saw Kathleen Lights talk about this in her most recent favorites video and I am so curious about this product. It gets hot? relaxes your muscles? Yes. I’ll take that. Origins Warm Down–Warming Lava Scrub to Detox and Smooth ($35)

Well, that wraps up my wishlist..for now. I’m clearly a little more into skin care at the moment than I am make up. I actually have a really great skin care routine going on right now that has made a difference in my skin. I believe I will share that with you guys next!

Till Next Time…..

Hey Guys!

I’m so sorry I have been MIA for a couple of weeks. I went to New Orleans, got sick for a week, and I’ve been studying for the DAT(the admissions test for dental school). So I have just been so busy and I haven’t had time to get on here and post anything! But today I am back with a very exciting review! I have had these products for several weeks now. First I have to mention what a good deal I got on these and if you missed it, you seriously missed out!

Everyone knows that GLAMGLOW masks are UBER expensive. One 1.7 oz product runs for $69. However, a few weeks ago I got an email from glamglow saying that had their “gift sexy” gift sets for $48!!! Forty-eight bucks people!! In that set I got everything pictured above. A FULL SIZE thirstymud mask(1.7 oz), a mini(0.5 oz) supermud clearing treatment and a 1 oz thirstycleanse mud to foam cleanser! What a steal, huh!? I had been wanting the thirsty mud mask forever because my skin is so dry and I seriously never heard or read a single negative review on it or any of the glamglow products! But I just could not bring myself to spend 70 bucks on a single product. So when I got that email,  I jumped on it!….and I’m glad I did.

Let’s start with the thirsty mud mask. They say you can use this as a “20-minute” hydrating treatment, and overnight treatment, or you can apply it while you’re on a long flight! It’s a thick, coconut scented serum. The first time I used it, I kept it on my face over night, and I’ll be honest, it was a little too intense for me. It was really thick, and gets on your pillow, and the next day my skin was actually oily. Having dry skin, if anything makes my skin oily, it must be REALLY hydrating. However the next time I used it, I used it for 30 minutes and I used it after using the supermud clearing mask and I LOVED the results I got. It hydrated my skin just enough and my skin was left feeling super smooth. I recommend using a very thin layer of this product because that is really all you need for it to do it’s job!

As for the supermud clearing treatment, I have no complaints at all. It goes on like a dark clay and dries. You can literally see the oil and ‘yuck’ coming out of your pores when it dries. It is amazing. It also gives this cooling and tingling effect, which I loved. It was very relaxing. As it dries, it does get very tight and restricts the movement of your face a little bit. That seems like a small price to pay for the results you get. I urge you to really check out your face in a magnified mirror before you use this product. Then do the same thing after you rinse it all off. You will see the difference. Everyone has those stubborn blackheads on their nose and chin and I feel like this product really reduced their appearance. I feel like it literally drew everything out of my pores and it was rinsed away when I rinsed my face off. How awesome!? I followed that with thirty minutes of the thirsty mud mask and felt like I had new skin when I was done. I highly recommend BOTH of these products. I’m even considering saving up $70 bucks to buy a full size supermud clearing treatment because I feel like it really works. I also use it as a spot treatment if I get a big nasty zit and it clears it up a lot faster!

Here is a picture of the clearing treatment doing its job! Can you say WOW!? Look at it pulling all the yuck out of my pores! The darker spots is all the dirt and oil coming out of my pores!

So, needless to say, I LOVE these products and HIGHLY recommend them! Personally, I wouldn’t recommend using the thirstymud mask over night. It may work great for you, but I personally thought it was a little too much. I feel like I could keep it on for an hour or so during the day, but not over night. Also, do not use the clearing treatment more than maybe twice a week. I feel like it may strip your skin if you use it too much. I feel like these two products work really well when used together!  Using them correctly, they will last a long time and they will definitely be worth the price. If you don’t have these products, put them on your wish list and SAVE, SAVE, SAVE! Because they are worth it!!!

Wish list Wednesday!

Hey guys! It is Wishlist Wednesday!!!

Okay, so I have been on a huge skincare kick lately. I have been to Sephora and tested a lot of stuff and even took home some samples. So here are some things on my wishlist that I hope will be on my “now I own this” list soon! If you have any of these products, please let me know what you think about them and if you think they are worth the price tag! 🙂

Okay so this first product is a product that I got a sample of a few days ago at Sephora and I tried it last night and I woke up this morning with my skin feeling SO smooth. It was a different kind of smoothness than I have ever woken up with before. It is really hard to explain but it was amazing so this definitely makes it on the wish list. It is the Algenist SPLASH Absolute Hydration Replenishing Sleeping Pack! If you have this and have used it for more than a few nights, let me know what you think! $48IMG_2387

Next product on my wish list is the Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment. Clearly I am all about hydration and I really love all of the other Josie Maran products that I have. So I really wanted to try this out but the price tag is a bit heavy. I think it was close to $60. So I may have to get a sample and see what I think.

I have been crazy about sleeping masks lately so along with the algenist sleep pack I mentioned above, I would also like to try the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. It is a bit cheaper so if it worked better, it would be the better deal! It is $26IMG_2389

Another product from origins I hope to own soon is the Eye Doctor: Moisture care for skin around eyes. I have really dry skin and around my eyes is one of my biggest problem areas. However this product contains only 0.5 oz and is $37. I would need to know that it was going to do the job. I know you would only use it around your eyes so you would use very small amounts of it. But that is still a pretty big price tag for the amount of product. I would need to know that it worked well under make up too. If you’ve used it, let me know what you think!

So that is it for skin care. Now on to the make up.

Of course this palette is on my wish list. I see it everywhere and it is sold out almost everywhere. It is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette! Its so beautiful and I just love the packaging! I know it is a lot of product so I think it would be worth the $52!IMG_2390

Last but not least is this New Tarte Young, Wild and Free Palette. I love Tarte so much. So I know I would love this palette. Only $34!IMG_2385

Well, that is all for this week’s Wishlist Wednesday. Have your tried any of these products? I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions! 🙂

Josie Maran Liquid Gold Argan Oil Self Tanner Review

Hey guys!

So I have been looking for a really great Sunless Tanner to use this summer. My skin is super sensitive to the sun and I get really big, dark sunspots on my face, so laying in the sun and getting a natural tan is not really an option for me. Not to mention that it really is bad for your skin! (No one wants wrinkles!) So I decided to try the Josie Maran Liquid Gold Argan Oil Sunless Tanner because I use a lot of her other products and love them!

I usually prepare my skin for sunless tanners for two days before I plan on applying it. I know that seems a bit excessive, but I have really dry skin so it takes some exfoliating and some super duper moisturizing to ensure I get an even application.

Next step is to shower, shave, and exfoliate and when you get out of the shower DO NOT PUT ANYTHING on your skin. No moisturizer, no products at ALL! Go straight for the self tanner. One thing I really liked about this product is that it gives you a bit of an instant bronze color which lets you see if you haven’t massaged it into you skin evenly. You can see exactly what you are doing. I do recommend applying this in a well lit room so you can see what you are doing. This product went on very well. It comes with a mitt and I loved using it. It helps everything go on so smoothly and evenly. I just put a little bit on the mitt and apply it section by section. I start with the bottom part of my leg, then the top part, and so on. Be sure to go back over all of your leg together to ensure an even application. I always pay extra attention to the front and back of my knee.

So for my face I used the face oil. It says to use 5-6 drops. I usually do this twice because my face never tans as well as the rest of my body. I apply it to my face using my hands. Be sure to wash them after.

The hardest part to self tanning is your hands/wrist and your feet/ankles. I unfortunately have no real advice on how to make it as natural looking as possible because one time I will have perfectly tanned hands and feet with no patches or streaks and the next time my feet and hands will look like I’ve been playing in mud. So I really think it will just be a trial and error process. Just try different things until you find something that works. And when you do..let me know! 🙂

So far I am really impressed with this product. My only issue is that I don’t feel like you get enough product for the amount that you are paying. Another thing is that it smells like self tanner..I know…it is self tanner…but I just don’t like the smell. Thats just something I have to get used to if I want to be tan! Also, I do enjoy the texture of your skin after it soaks in a little. Although it is an oil, it does soak in pretty quickly, but there is a little bit of stickiness for a while. That is why I cannot self tan right before bed. I usually apply it mid-day so it will be soaked in all the way before I go to bed.

Also, this product gives you instant color and it does wash off when you take your first shower after application. But you are still tanned after you get out. It doesn’t make a huge difference but some does come off. I’ve noticed if I have any uneven areas, it usually washes off when I bathe. It must be where the product settles when you have your arms and legs bent or something. I don’t know. This product also lasts a long time. I have used it twice now and I still had some tan after 8-9 days. It fades very naturally and does not get streaky or patchy.

Overall, I recommend this product.

Here are some photos of the results I got. Just a reminder: this product was formulated to be buildable. I am very fair so I only like a little kiss of color. My results were after only one application. If you want darker, just apply it more!

Immediately After Application
24 Hours After Application

Thanks for reading guys. What self tanning products do you use? I would love to hear about them!
